Job Description: SLR International Corporation is seeking a Mid-Level Engineer or Scientist to join our busy environmental consulting team. The position focuses on multi-media permitting and compliance, including stormwater compliance, SPCC, air permitting, and hazardous waste management. Candidates should have a strong academic and employment background and a passion for environmental compliance. This is a full-time position offering an opportunity to work with a dynamic, international organization, collaborating across the US and the Carolinas.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  2. At least 5 years of industry or consulting experience
  3. Knowledge of environmental regulations (CAA, CWA, RCRA, SPCC, CERCLA, EPCRA, TSCA)
  4. Strong communication, report-writing, and organizational skills
  5. Experience with industrial facilities and operations
  6. Ability to work independently and in teams
  7. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the US and Canada

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience developing stormwater pollution prevention and SPCC plans
  2. Conducting environmental audits and document reviews
  3. Implementing environmental compliance programs
  4. Project management experience, including budgeting
  5. Air permitting and hazardous waste management
  6. Sampling for laboratory analysis

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing plans to meet regulatory requirements for environmental programs
  2. Reviewing regulations and client programs for compliance gaps
  3. Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  4. Coordinating with team members and clients
  5. Traveling to client sites and participating in meetings
  6. Preparing proposals with senior staff guidance

Physical Demands: Fieldwork and travel are integral, including working in various weather conditions, lifting up to 35 pounds, and performing visual assessments at heights.

Compensation Range: $93,000 to $100,000, based on experience, education, and location.
