Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred.
• Two years or more of related training/experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Must pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical and road test.
• Must pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check for last 3 years.
• Must have basic tools.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools as applicable.
• Identifies root cause of basic failures and performs repairs.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines.
• Performs other support duties as required.
