Job summary

Ryder in Rochester, New York is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. The position offers weekly pay, a wide benefits package, and opportunities for career growth.

You’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, with a compensation plan that includes bonuses, sign-on incentives, and a 401(k) match. A CDL and certification are preferred, with training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification post-secondary degree preferred.
• Basic tools required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
• Preventive maintenance including oil changes, brakes and tires.
• Two years or more of related classroom/field experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
• Identifies root causes and performs repairs as needed.
• Interacts with drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
• Uses shop management system for documentation.
• Complies with safety, DOT, MOT and company policies.
