Job summary

Ryder in Aberdeen, Maryland is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy duty vehicles. The role includes second shift hours (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm) with hourly pay and various bonuses.

Benefits start immediately and include PTO, 401(k) matching, and tuition assistance. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical certifications preferred, and a CDL A (preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certifications preferred.
• CDL A license preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.
• Two+ years of classroom/training or work experience in mechanical repair.
• Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles and pass drug/physical/tests.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Adheres to safety, DOT, MOT, and corporate compliance guidelines.
