Job description

Visual Soft, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates (US Citizens with active ACTIVE TOP SECRET clearance - a requirement on its subcontract with work share on a project with a Major Prime) for the following position for a federal agency.

Database Administrator - Mid Level - Active TS required

Job Responsibilities & Required Qualifications
  1. Evaluate and recommend available database management system products to support validated user requirements
  2. Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications
  3. Maintain Oracle systems on a Linux operating system and (also desired MS SQL database admin experience) on a day-to-day basis
  4. Responsible for backup and recovery operations for servers
  5. Perform quality control of ingest and transform processes and products produced
  6. Perform rudimentary Linux system administrative functions
  7. Responsible for entity relationship diagrams and documentation of Oracle configuration
  8. Over all 5-6 years of information technology experience
  9. 4+ years of Oracle database administration experience
  10. 3+ years of Linux administration experience
  11. Multiple Information Technology certifications
  12. Knowledge of government-wide system design, information technology equipment, and services
  13. Bachelor's degree at minimum; experience can sometimes substitute for degree at the discretion of the government
Government Requirements
  • Clearance: Must have an Active TOP SECRET clearance, undergo background investigation and a drug test
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen
Benefits:

Our standard benefits include 3 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO), which includes sick leave. Unused PTO will be issued as a check at the end of an employee's anniversary. We also provide 2 floating and 8 public holidays. Floating and public holidays expire at the end of each year of service. The company covers 50% of health and dental insurances for all full-time employees; dependents can be added at extra cost. Coverage begins after 30 days or the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees must complete all paperwork within the first 30 days. We also provide Short-Term Disability (STD), Long-Term Disability (LTD), and a one-time salary equivalent of life insurance at no cost. Full-time employees or W-2 employees without benefits are eligible to participate in the company's 401(k) plan after 90 days, with a 4% company match and immediate vesting. All W-2 employees are also eligible for profit sharing, with no employee contributions required.
