Job summary

Shive-Hattery in Madison, WI is seeking a mid-level Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our collaborative design practice.

You will lead design efforts on DFD/Transportation and site-related projects, supervise teams, and help grow our client network through business development while mentoring colleagues.

This role is office- or hybrid-based, with travel to sites as needed, and requires a Wisconsin P.E. license.

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of civil engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineering license in the State of Wisconsin is required.

As a mid-level Civil Engineer with 4+ years of experience you'll play a key role in supporting the firm and shaping projects that make a difference-from concept through completion. What You'll Do
  • Manage multiple projects within the Madison metro and surrounding areas, ensuring timely and successful completion.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, ensuring high standards of quality and performance lead design on a variety of DFD/Transportation and site-related projects, including: Roadways and trails, Traffic signals, Utilities and storm sewer design, Site designs and DFD projects

This position is primarily performed in an office or hybrid environment and may require travel to project sites, other Shive-Hattery office locations or to meet with clients. A full clean driver's license is required. The role involves sitting, standing, and working at a computer for extended periods. May also require lifting light to medium weight objects of up to 50 lbs., the wearing of PPE and navigating active construction sites.
