Job summary

LJB Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Mid-Level Design Engineer to contribute to infrastructure and site design projects.

The successful candidate will develop designs from concept through final design, prepare specs, cost estimates, and bid packages while coordinating with clients and project managers. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a Professional Engineer (PE) license, and 4–9 years of relevant experience.

Description LJB Engineering is a national, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm with multiple business lines including Transportation, Water Resources, Geospatial and Site Design, Buildings Structure Design and Safety/Fall Protection Design/Installation. Our diverse expertise, client base, and geographies have enabled LJB to serve clients in all 50 U.S. states and several countries.We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Mid-Level Design Engineer position in Dayton, Ohio. The successful candidate will possess a can-do attitude, have a passion for and take pride in their work, be a creative thinker, and have a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently

Salary Range : $85,000 - $140,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

MID-LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop engineering designs for projects from preliminary concepts through final design.
• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.
• Coordinate with client technical staff and project managers throughout project delivery.
• Support both design-bid-build and design-build project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers in the development of final design and construction plans.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings among design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
• Contribute to project decisions related to technical approaches, cost, and schedule performance.
• Participate in professional organizations and industry-related activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

MID-LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 4-9 years of relevant engineering design experience

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with state or local DOTs

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
