Job summary

LJB Inc. in Dayton, Ohio is seeking a Mid-Level Design Engineer to contribute to infrastructure and site design projects. You will develop designs from preliminary concepts through final design under guidance from senior engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 4–9 years of relevant design experience, with familiarity in AutoCAD Civil 3D. DOT experience is a plus, and mentoring junior staff is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs for projects from preliminary concepts through final design.
• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.
• Coordinate with client technical staff and project managers throughout project delivery.
• Support both design-bid-build and design-build project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers in development of final design and construction plans.
• Coordinate design activities with design staff, subcontractors, and client managers.
• Contribute to decisions on technical approaches, cost, and schedule performance.
• Participate in professional organizations and related activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Our diverse expertise, client base, and geographies have enabled LJB to serve clients in all 50 U.S. states and several countries.

We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a full-time Mid-Level Design Engineer position in Dayton, Ohio. The successful candidate will possess a can-do attitude, have a passion for and take pride in their work, be a creative thinker, and have a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently

Salary Range : $85,000 - $140,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.

Mid-level Design Engineer Essential Functions

• Develop engineering designs for projects from preliminary concepts through final design.

Required Qualifications

MID-LEVEL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 4-9 years of relevant engineering design experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with state or local DOTs
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
