Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is seeking a Mid-Level Automotive Technician to gain hands‑on experience in one of Goodyear’s Auto Service centers. You’ll diagnose technical issues with a mechanical aptitude while delivering outstanding service.

Responsibilities include performing line technician services, routine inspections, brake repairs, and tire installation, with opportunities to learn, document work, and advance within a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of automotive experience including brake repairs, fluid flushes, and preventative maintenance.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years of age.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience diagnosing vehicles and performing road tests.
• Experience in electrical, air conditioning, and fuel ignition work.

Responsibilities

• Perform line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and brake repairs.
• Install tires and perform wheel alignments.
• Provide excellent guest service with clear communication about guest vehicles.
• Document all work performed on repair orders and maintain safety compliance.
• Mentor junior automotive technicians and promote teamwork during operating hours.

Shift Information:

Depending on location, our stores may be open 7 days a week, which may include weekends and some holidays.

About the Role: What skills will you learn?

• How to perform line technician services, routine inspections/maintenance, system diagnostics, and problem‑solving, brake repairs, fluid exchanges/flushes, preventative maintenance, wheel alignments, and tire installation
• Demonstrate excellent guest service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles Provide guidance and mentoring to junior automotive technicians
• Document all work performed on the repair order
• Report any safety issues immediately to management
• Promote teamwork to deliver times and accurate guest care during all operating hours
• Maintain strict adherence to Company policy on vehicle care and operation
• Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods of time, which may include light and heavy lifting, including consumer tires and wheels, standing, bending, and squatting.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00 per hour based on experience; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
