Peraton is seeking a Java Developer to help build Web and backend application/services for a credentialing/case management system using Java/Spring-based REST APIs along with a Web 2.0 framework in a continuous integration environment. The candidate will join our team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for federal service agencies. This role plays a vital part in developing and sustaining a mission‑critical, large‑scale Java application development that directly supports national transportation security initiatives. Location

Hybrid role– On‑site in Columbia, MD.

• Hybrid. On‑site presence in Columbia, MD is required for a minimum of three days per week. There are NO exceptions. Candidates must maintain flexibility to report on‑site up to five days per week based on project or business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of IT experience, or associate’s degree and 7 years’ experience, or high school diploma/equivalent and 9 years’ experience.
• US Citizenship required
• Must have an Active Secret clearance to be considered
• 5 years of recent demonstrable experience developing and implementing software solutions to build enterprise applications using the following:
• React
• HTML
• CSS
• JavaScript
• Spring Boot
• 2+ years of experience with using the following Java development tools:
• Eclipse
• Git/GITLAB

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing and implementing software solutions to build enterprise applications adhering to Agile principles.
• 1-2 years’ experience using Redux.
• Knowledge of database schema design, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact‑SQL (T‑SQL).
• 3 years of work experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting, for example:
• KornShell (ksh)
• Bourne Again Shell (Bash)
• C shell (csh)
• Knowledge of JSON Web Token (JOTS).
• Knowledge of Drools – a Java-based Business Rule Management System (BRMS).
• Knowledge of Jakarata Persistence API (JPA), Object/Relational Mapping (ORM), Spring JPA, Hibernate.
• Previous work in a large‑scale Federal IT Program.
