Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a skilled plumber under general supervision to perform installation, maintenance, remodeling, repair, and servicing of plumbing systems on campus and in university facilities.

Responsibilities include installing pipes, sinks, traps and lab fixtures; repairing valves, faucets and vents; connecting hot water heaters and gas heaters, unstopping clogged lines, and performing minor carpentry and cleanup as needed.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints and diagrams; knowledge of all phases of plumbing and sewer; understanding sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge and usage of measuring devices, hand and power tools.
• Basic math abilities, mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
• Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned tasks to include installation, maintenance, remodeling, repair, and servicing of plumbing systems.
• Performs plumbing work in the construction, alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings.
• Installs pipes, sinks, traps, washbowls, toilet fittings, drains, special laboratory sinks and drain tables.
• Repairs and maintains valves, faucets, traps, sinks and vents.
• Connects hot water heaters, gas heaters, furnaces and tests for safety.
• Repairs sewer pipes.
• Unstops clogged lines.
• Performs minor carpentry, digging and cleanup duties related to the assignment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
