Job summary

Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa is seeking a Paramedic to join its Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU) on an hourly PRN basis. This role offers 48/96-hour shifts and a competitive wage with a salary range of $19.81 to $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and scope of practice.

You will respond to emergency calls, provide patient care from neonate to geriatric, perform procedures under protocol, and maintain certification requirements, while upholding confidentiality and

Qualifications

• Paramedic program graduate.
• Current Iowa paramedic certification.
• ACLS and PALS within specified period after start date.
• Valid Iowa Chauffeurs license with a good driving record.
• Knowledge of ambulance operation and EVOC within 1 year of employment.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• Dependent Adult and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter within 30 days of employment.
• Skill in oral and written communications.
• Knowledge of pre-hospital emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency medical treatment to patients from neonate to geriatric, based on protocols and within scope of certification.
• Appropriately and safely respond to calls when dispatched.
• Performs procedures as directed by a physician or written protocols.
• Maintains competency in advanced skills via scheduled labs and director expectations.
• Assists in the Emergency Department while adhering to the ambulance scope of practice.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, resident, and personnel information.
