Job description

Overview

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single‑crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi‑$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero‑emission energy.

Responsibilities
  • Design new microwave components and systems used for plasma enhanced CVD reactors and other tools used in the production of CVD diamond.
  • Model the plasma and microwave behavior of reactor components in order to improve reactor designs and understanding.
  • Develop diagnostics for reactor and plasma monitoring and control, implementing diagnostics in manufacturing.
  • Architect and perform experiments to understand hardware impacts to plasma and diamond growth, specifically as it relates to microwave sources and components.
Qualifications
  • At least 5 or more years of industry experience.
  • Ph.D. in engineering or applied physics and expertise in high‑power, microwave frequency systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with RF/microwave equipment used in the test of microwave components and sources (i.e. VNAs, signal generators, diodes, etc.).
  • Experience with high vacuum systems and plasma‑based devices.
  • Proficiency in a full‑wave electromagnetic design tool (HFSS, CST MWS, or COMSOL) and proficiency with other circuit design/layout tools.
