Job summary

PSCI seeks an experienced MicroStrategy Developer for a contract role in Media, PA. This onsite-Mon-Thu, remote-Fri position supports a key marketing analytics initiative by delivering scalable BI solutions with strong SQL and data integration capabilities.

You will partner with business, analytics, and data engineering teams to translate reporting needs into production-ready assets, troubleshoot issues, and document technical work as part of a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in CS/IS/engineering or related field.
• 5+ years hands-on MicroStrategy development experience.
• Strong MicroStrategy design: dossiers, reports, dashboards, documents, metrics, filters, prompts.
• Advanced SQL writing, tuning, and troubleshooting against large datasets.
• Experience with Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Snowflake/Teradata or similar.
• Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain MicroStrategy assets (dossiers, reports, dashboards, documents).
• Build and maintain MicroStrategy metadata, schema objects, and semantic layers.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data structures.
• Collaborate with analysts, product owners, and data engineers to translate requirements.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Troubleshoot performance issues across environments; support testing and production.

PSCI has a MicroStrategy Developer contract role for a client in Media, PA. This role is onsite Monday-Thursday and remote Friday. Our client is seeking an experienced MicroStrategy Developer to support a key marketing analytics initiative. This individual will work closely with business, analytics, and data engineering teams to understand reporting needs and deliver scalable, production-ready business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on MicroStrategy development experience, advanced SQL skills, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain MicroStrategy Dossiers, Reports, Dashboards, Documents, metrics, filters, prompts, and related BI assets.
• Build and maintain MicroStrategy metadata, schema objects, attributes, facts, hierarchies, transformations, and semantic/reporting layers.
• Develop, validate, and optimize complex SQL queries, database views, stored procedures, cubes, and reporting data structures.
• Partner with business analysts, product owners, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Integrate and validate data from multiple sources to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and usability.
• Troubleshoot MicroStrategy, data, and performance issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Support testing, defect resolution, deployment validation, and production support activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer as needed.
• Analyze reporting requirements, identify data dependencies, and recommend appropriate technical approaches.
• Work independently to deliver high-quality analytics solutions within established timelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on MicroStrategy development experience.
• Strong experience developing MicroStrategy Dossiers, Reports, Dashboards, Documents, metrics, filters, and prompts.
• Experience with MicroStrategy schema design, metadata management, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience writing, tuning, and troubleshooting complex queries against large datasets.
• Experience with relational or cloud data platforms such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Teradata, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts, including star and snowflake schemas, facts, dimensions, and aggregate structures.
• Ability to gather and analyze requirements, identify data dependencies, and clarify technical assumptions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
