Job summary

Galent in New York is seeking a Microsoft 365 / Email Security Engineer to secure and optimize enterprise messaging environments, with hands‑on experience in Proofpoint or Defender for Office 365 and Exchange Online.

You will design, implement, and maintain email security controls, manage mail flow, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and collaborate with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams on modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Proofpoint or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Strong SMTP/mail flow and email routing experience.
• Experience implementing SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience protecting against phishing, BEC, malware, spam and spoofing.
• Strong Exchange Online / Microsoft 365 experience.
• Exposure to email security architecture and solution design.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 / Email Security Engineer to support and secure enterprise messaging environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Proofpoint or Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online, email security, and enterprise mail‑flow architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise email security solutions using Proofpoint or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Manage and troubleshoot SMTP, mail flow, routing, connectors, and email delivery across enterprise environments.
• Implement and maintain SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for email authentication and anti‑spoofing.
• Develop and maintain security controls against phishing, Business Email Compromise (BEC), malware, spam, and spoofing.
• Administer and support Exchange Online / Microsoft 365 messaging environments.
• Participate in email security architecture and modernization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex messaging and email security issues across large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Network, Risk, and other technology teams.
• Support security enhancements, migrations, and enterprise messaging transformation initiatives.

Required Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with Proofpoint OR Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Strong SMTP / Mail Flow / Email Routing experience.
• Hands‑on experience with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Experience protecting against Phishing, BEC, Malware, Spam, and Spoofing.
• Strong Exchange Online / Microsoft 365 experience.
• Exposure to email security architecture and solution design.
• Experience working in large‑scale enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Enterprise email migration or modernization experience.
• Security automation and monitoring.
• Experience in highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft security and compliance technologies.
