IBM Consulting is seeking a Microservices Developer to join our team in a hybrid role across the Lowell/Cambridge area in Massachusetts. You’ll design and implement cloud-native applications, leveraging microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures to deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include front-end and back-end development with ReactJS/Angular, Java, Node.js, Python, and .NET, plus managing services on GCP or Azure using GKE, Cloud Run, and Cloud Functions.

Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud-native technologies including microservices, API-driven interfaces, event-driven architectures, containerized workloads, serverless and PWAs.
  • Front-end and back-end development using ReactJS/Angular and scalable microservices built on 12-factor principles.
  • Proficiency in Java, GraalVM, Node.js, Python, and .NET across multiple runtimes.
  • Familiarity with Springboot, Quarkus, Django, Express.js and tools like Kafka and Zookeeper.
  • Experience with cloud-native CI/CD for change release and test-driven development methodologies.

Your role and responsibilities

  • L2/L3 Support of applications using microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures, with a focus on domain-driven design and API-driven interfaces.

  • Implement CI/CD and Test-Driven Development: Apply experience in cloud-native CI/CD for change release, and utilize test-driven development methodologies.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Front-End and Back-End Development Skills: Experience with front-end development using frameworks like ReactJS or Angular, and back-end development using scalable and resilient backend microservices built on 12-factor principles.
  • Programming Languages and Runtimes: Exposure to multiple programming languages and runtimes, such as Java, GraalVM, Node.js, Python, and .NET.
  • Microservices Frameworks and Tools: Experience with various frameworks for building microservices, including Springboot, Quarkus, Django, and Express.js, as well as tools like Kafka and Zookeeper.
  • Cloud-Native CI/CD and Test-Driven Development: Experience with cloud-native CI/CD for change release, and test-driven development methodologies.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Knowledge of Event-Driven Applications: Experience with event-driven applications using tools like Kafka and Zookeeper, with a focus on designing and developing scalable and resilient cloud-native applications.
  • Proficiency in Multiple Frameworks: Exposure to multiple frameworks for building microservices, including Springboot, Quarkus, Django, and Express.js.
