Overview

About the role

As a Microservice Developer – GoLang, you will make an impact by designing and deploying scalable backend services and microservices in cloud-native environments. You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and collaborate closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and data specialists to deliver high-performance solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using GoLang.
  • Build and optimize Cypher queries to extract and manipulate data from Neo4j GraphDB.
  • Develop and deploy RESTful microservices in AWS Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement Kafka consumers and producers for real-time data streaming and processing.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and performance tuning.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in GoLang development.
  • Strong experience with Neo4j and Cypher query language.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
  • Experience deploying applications in Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience with Kafka for message consumption and stream processing.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Good understanding of software engineering best practices including unit testing and version control (Git).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in API development.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Nice to have
  • Experience with GraphQL and integrating it with microservices.
  • Exposure to observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and contribute to technical leadership.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.

Compensation and benefits

Salary and Other Compensation:

  • The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to $141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
  • This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
