Job description

Our Passion is Food!

At Bon Appetit Management Company we are committed to two things, great food and outstanding service! At Bon Appetit you won't find our managers referring to a corporate recipe book or our chefs microwaving the lunch special. We do not have standardized recipes or central commissaries, instead, our chefs and managers are expected to stay abreast of current culinary trends and bring cutting edge food into their cafes. We are a restaurant company that operates in contract food service. That means you will have the freedom to be creative, take risks, and truly shine. We are committed to our staff growing, trying new things, and learning all that they can. Our rapid growth and breadth of accounts translates into exciting opportunities for our people!

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, service-driven Micro Kitchens Manager to oversee the daily execution of a large-scale workplace hospitality program across multiple locations. This role is responsible for ensuring breakrooms are consistently stocked, operationally efficient, and maintained to the highest standards of presentation and service.

The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with experience managing inventory, vendor relationships, purchasing, and day-to-day operations in a fast-paced hospitality, foodservice, retail, or workplace services environment. Success in this role requires exceptional attention to detail, proactive communication, sound financial management, and the ability to lead teams while maintaining a hands-on approach to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of daily micro-kitchen and breakroom operations across 11 breakrooms located within two sites, ensuring a consistent and exceptional guest experience.

  • Oversee and develop a team of approximately 15 associates, including supervisors, attendants, and porters, while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and service excellence.

  • Manage scheduling, staffing coverage, and labor deployment to ensure all locations are fully operational and stocked before daily service begins.

  • Maintain responsibility for ordering, purchasing, inventory management, product rotation, invoice reconciliation, variance reporting, and overall budget performance.

  • Manage P&L responsibilities, monitor operational expenses, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining service standards.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, ensuring product quality, delivery accuracy, pricing compliance, and consistent service levels.

  • Conduct routine audits of inventory, merchandising, cleanliness, organization, and product availability across all breakroom locations.

  • Partner closely with supervisors to ensure all spaces remain fully stocked, organized, and guest-ready throughout the day.

  • Monitor inventory trends and consumption patterns to support forecasting, minimize waste, and maximize product availability.

  • Identify operational gaps, resolve issues proactively, and communicate priorities, service needs, and updates effectively through Slack and other communication channels.

  • Serve as a hands‑on operational leader, providing direct support to breakroom teams during staffing shortages, peak periods, or business‑critical situations.

  • Act as a trusted resource for employee concerns and basic HR‑related matters, partnering with Human Resources and leadership teams to ensure timely resolution and appropriate follow‑up.

  • Support snack and beverage fulfillment for meetings and events, including coordination of product transfers and inventory allocation.

  • Maintain detailed operational records, inventory reports, financial documentation, and performance metrics.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation requirements, workplace safety regulations, and company policies.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, team performance, and the overall workplace hospitality experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership experience in workplace services, hospitality, foodservice, retail operations, inventory management, logistics, or a related environment.

  • Proven experience leading teams and developing supervisors in a fast-paced operational setting.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, variance reporting, and P&L management.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple locations, competing priorities, and large inventories while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience working with vendors, procurement systems, inventory management tools, and ordering platforms.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, provide coaching, manage performance, and address employee concerns professionally and effectively.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Exceptional communication skills with a proactive and collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.

  • Comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, inventory systems, communication platforms, and reporting tools.
