Job summary

TVMDL Canyon in Texas is seeking a Scientist I - Microbiology to perform routine and non-routine diagnostic assays using state-of-the-art equipment with minimal supervision. You will interpret results, communicate with clients, and mentor Technicians in diagnostic techniques.

The position requires a pre-exposure rabies vaccination series, on-site hours Monday–Friday, and potential Saturday rotation after training. Visa sponsorship is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Two years of related experience.
• Experience in a quality assurance and safety program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees sample processing and preparation performed by Technicians, providing training and correction when necessary.
• Performs routine and complex diagnostic testing and prepares reagents, standards and controls.
• Troubleshoots complex assays or instrument problems and implements improvements.
• Mentors and provides technical training to Technicians and assists in proficiency testing.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

Two years of related experience.
