Job summary

Simtra BioPharma Solutions is seeking a Microbiology Supervisor to lead the daily operations of the Microbiology department at our Bloomington, Indiana facility, partnering with fellow leaders to ensure quality and regulatory excellence.

You will supervise Quality Technicians and Lab Associates, prioritize workloads, hire and coach staff, develop performance plans, and participate in audits and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a physical science required, preferably Microbiology.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality.
• Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and enterprise systems (JDE, Trackwise, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead the Microbiology sub-department and serve on the leadership team.
• Guide Quality Technicians and Lab Associates through daily operations.
• Prioritize workloads and assign shift coverage.
• Hire, coach, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Set departmental policy and drive improvement plans.
• Participate in audits and cross-functional teams.
• Act as SME for the department and review investigations.
• Analyze data for microbiological trends and respond accordingly.
