Job summary

Meritus Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases, while complying with CLIA standards for moderate and high complexity testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, clinical, or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution
• Plus one of the following: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology or completion of a 50-week US military medical laboratory training course

Responsibilities

• Performs authorized moderate and high complexity tests requiring appropriate skill and training
• Follows procedures for specimen handling, processing, analysis, and result reporting
• Maintains records for proficiency testing and ensures consistency with patient specimen testing
• Adheres to quality control policies and documents all related activities and maintenance
• Communicates clearly and professionally, exercises sound judgment, and adapts tone to audience
