Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a Microbiology Medical Technologist to join our Laboratory team. This full-time Baylor position features a three-day weekend schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) with a $3.00 per hour Baylor premium and full-time benefits.

The role focuses on complex microbiology testing, culture interpretation, susceptibility testing, and instrumentation maintenance, collaborating with clinicians to deliver accurate results for patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Active Florida Medical Technologist license or eligibility.
• ASCP/AMT or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiology testing per procedures and regulatory standards.
• Process specimens from various sources (blood, urine, wound, etc.).
• Identify microorganisms and perform susceptibility testing.
• Operate and maintain analyzers; ensure quality control and QA.
• Document results and communicate critical findings promptly.
• Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and OSHA guidelines.
