Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a daytime shift with weekend/holiday coverage. Eligible MLS candidates can receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment; eligible MLT candidates can receive $10,000 with a 2-year commitment.

MLS rates start at $27.78/hour and MLT rates start at $22.12/hour. The position involves handling all laboratory customer inquiries with professional communication, following procedures for specimen

Responsibilities

• Interact with laboratory customers courteously and professionally; respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
• Adhere to lab and hospital policies; collect and process specimens; perform qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Recognize critical/abnormal results and follow-up per protocols; identify problems with instrumentation or samples.
