Job summary

Abrazo Central Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Medical Technologist to process and test all types of laboratory specimens, review results, and troubleshoot instrumentation. The role includes training, validation of new equipment, and ensuring regulatory compliance with agencies such as CAP and AABB.

Must have 2 years of clinical lab experience or 1 year with a Master's degree; must be registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS for hire).

Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years as a medical technologist in acute care facility, OR 1 year as a medical technologist in acute facility and a Master’s degree.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an approved college or university and/or graduate of an accredited school of medical technology, or equivalent.
• Certifications: Registered with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT or CSMLS within 12 months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens.
• Reviews and reports lab results.
• Performs operation, maintenance and advanced troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Acts as resource to other laboratory personnel.
• Assists with new equipment validation and implementation, employee training and competency assessment, regulatory compliance responsibilities for CAP, TCJ, AABB or other agencies, quality assurance, quality control and instrument maintenance.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.
