Job summary

Dignity Health – YRMC in Prescott, AZ seeks a Medical Technologist to perform complex lab tests across hematology, chemistry, and microbiology, ensuring accurate, timely results for patient care. You will analyze specimens, operate and maintain instruments, perform QC, and report results with clinical correlation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences as defined by CLIA is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and reports waived, moderately complex, and highly complex test procedures on patient specimens, adhering to SOPs to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Provides patient care through clinical correlation of results, identification of patterns of bias, rapid notification of caregivers of critical values, and completion of testing within turnaround-time limits.
• Ensures major automated equipment is operational by calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting, including vendor contact for assistance or repair.
• Performs calibration and quality control procedures and maintains records to ensure tests are within parameters.
• Performs proficiency testing as assigned and reviews results with laboratory leaders.
• Assists in evaluation and generation of compliant documentation for validation of new procedures and equipment for physician with current lab technology
