Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing is seeking a Media Prep Technician to support onsite laboratories in Lancaster and the EML lab in Lancaster. You will prepare and sterilize media for microbiology testing, wash glassware, and manage waste disposal following SOPs and safety protocols.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to work in a team, and attention to detail. The position is full-time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm–10:30 pm, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

High school diploma with chemistry/biology coursework or equivalent.
Ability to read and understand SOPs.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Ability to adapt to changing media needs in microbiology.
Good listening and communication with coworkers and supervisors.
Strong organizational skills and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

Prepare liquid media and agar for microbiological testing.
Operate autoclaves for sterilization of media and waste.
Perform routine autoclave maintenance.
Operate and read a pH meter and lab balance.
Wash glassware using automatic washers and manual washing as needed.
Document media prep, autoclave usage, and equipment calibration in logbooks.
