Job Title: Central Lab Microbiology Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to oversee laboratory operations and ensure high-quality diagnostic testing. This role requires a leader with strong microbiology expertise and the ability to manage both technical and non-technical resources in a high-volume, central laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, and a passion for advancing laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day microbiology lab operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
Oversee and mentor laboratory staff, providing coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.
Manage resource utilization, including payroll, supplies, and operational expenses, to optimize efficiency.
Ensure timely and accurate test results for hospitals, physician practices, and other healthcare clients.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop strategies for process improvement and operational excellence.
Screen, interview, and select qualified candidates for open positions within the department.
Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement within the lab.
Maintain compliance with all applicable laboratory regulations and accreditation requirements.
Participate in leadership meetings and assist in strategic planning for the lab division.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field required.
Experience: 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience in a high-volume microbiology lab.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
