We are seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our microbiology laboratory and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. Florida Woman Care is the largest OB/GYN group practice in Florida, with a state-of-the-art CAP-accredited lab located in Tampa. Our specialists in GYN, Cytopathology, and Clinical Pathology produce high-quality diagnoses of laboratory specimens. We serve over 200 medical offices and 600 OB/GYN providers across Florida. Our laboratory performs Histology, Cytology, Molecular Microbiology, and Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT).

Responsibilities

• Supervise microbiology technicians and laboratory assistants in accessioning, performing, and interpreting microbiology specimens.
• Provide backup support to other laboratory positions.
• Prepare for CAP and other inspections.
• Perform compliance tasks required by regulations.
• Participate in projects and perform additional duties as needed.
• Oversee the overall performance of the microbiology department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in microbiology.
• Experience with MicroScan instrumentation.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Florida State Licensure is not required.
