Job summary

Certified Group is seeking a Microbiology Technician in Missouri to prepare samples for analytical and microbiological testing of food products, ingredients, and environmentals, applying approved microbiological techniques in a regulated lab setting. Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 5:00pm-1:30am.

You will maintain media and reagents, perform quality control, manage supplies, and uphold safety and documentation standards across FSNS laboratories.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Life Science or two years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of a food testing laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
• Apply aseptic techniques in daily workload.
• Maintain media and reagents for daily microbiological testing.
• Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
• Provide routine preventive maintenance by daily cleaning, sanitizing, and trash disposal.
• Perform quality control monitoring by taking incubator temperatures and running controls.
• Independently pursue assigned processes in line with FSNS policies and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory condition, equipment, supplies, quality assurance records.
• Perform activities in a neat, safe, hygienic and efficient manner.
• Share information in an open, timely manner.
• Assist with prioritizing workloads to meet team goals.
• Ensure safety of oneself and others in the workspace.
• Complete required training.
