Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine seeks a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Microbiology/Immunology on the Kirksville, Missouri campus to teach, advance biomedical research, and provide service to the college and university. The position emphasizes teaching medical microbiology/immunology, developing research and assessment tools, and mentoring students while working toward external funding within three years.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, DMD or equivalent doctoral degree is required.
• Two years postdoctoral experience or equivalent; prior teaching at graduate/professional level preferred.
• Knowledge of virology, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, infectious diseases, immunology, cell biology, or molecular biology.

Responsibilities

• Present 20–40 lectures per year across microbiology/immunology courses.
• Develop and revise learning objectives, lectures, slides, media and assessments.
• Develop cases and facilitate small group case-based exercises.
• Teach wet labs for Medical Microbiology and Immunology.
• Collaborate with basic science and clinical faculty to deliver interdisciplinary content.
• Develop an independent research program and seek extramural funding within 3 years.
• Mentor students and participate in admissions/interviews.
• Write COMLEX NBOME items or participate in related committees.
