Job description

Job Title: Microbiologist

Location: Piscataway, NJ

Hours/Schedule: M-F, 8-5

Type: Contract

Overview

This position is with a fully integrated biopharmaceutical company with global R&D, clinical, regulatory, and manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate microbiological testing, release of product, and testing for validation protocols.
  2. Perform organism identification.
  3. Review batch filling records to ensure the quality of aseptic processes.
  4. Read and interpret microbiological cultures and related tests, including environmental monitoring, sterility tests, growth promotion, and microbial limits tests.
  5. Perform validation, technology transfer, troubleshooting, and write policies and procedures for quality initiatives.
  6. Review and approve environmental monitoring data, laboratory equipment, and records.
  7. Prepare process and status reports, assign and monitor document numbers, and review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  8. Perform other functions as required or assigned.
  9. Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with environmental monitoring (EM)
  • Strong aseptic techniques
  • Experience with bioburden and endotoxin testing
  • Experience with WFI sampling (Water for Injection)
  • Experience with Veeva Vault is a plus
  • Experience with autoclave is expected
