The Microbiologist's duties include the manufacture, testing, and quality control of materials and/or products.
Shift Details
- Monday - Friday (days off: Saturday and Sunday)
- Hours: 2nd shift: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Training on day shift)
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform routine testing on samples independently to meet deadlines, interpreting results for pass/fail.
- Conduct manufacturing and quality control testing for in-house media production.
- Perform complex testing with minimal supervision.
- Aseptic production of BSL-1 and BSL-2 microbial stocks.
- Record, report, and investigate unexpected test results.
- Handle and maintain BSL-2 regulated microorganisms.
- Comply with company policies, SOPs, ISO 17025, BSLT-2 cGMPs, cGLPs, and A2LA requirements.
- Perform operational maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment; notify supervisors of issues.
- Participate in cross-technology training programs.
- Stay current with microbiology technology and troubleshooting.
- Provide technical support and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with audits and maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or related science, with at least 12 semester hours in microbiology/chemistry labs.
- 0-2 years of pharmaceutical/biochemical QC lab experience.
- Experience in microbiology testing such as microbial enumeration, growth promotion, microbial identification, gram staining, pipetting, etc.
- Ability to multitask and work independently.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of microbiology principles and methods.
- Physical dexterity for testing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s in Microbiology or related field.
- Experience in Virology and Fibology, SOP creation, and pharmaceutical/biochemical QC labs (preferably 3+ years).
