Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Microbiological skills including aerobic plate counts, MPN, isolating and identifying cultures, ELISA, PCR, media prep, aseptic technique.
• Routine lab functions: data entry, validation, maintaining control cultures, instrument calibration/maintenance.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and audit readiness, 5S organization, and cleaning.
• Process validation and protocol support, sample collection, and allergen testing.

Scope of the Role

• • Microbiological skills including:
• o Aerobic plate counts
• o Most probable number analysis
• o Isolating and identifying bacterial cultures
• o ELISA
• o PCR
• o Media preparation
• o Good aseptic technique
• • Routine laboratory functions
• o Date entry and validation
• o Maintaining bacterial control cultures
• o Instrument calibration, maintenance, and repair
• o Maintaining the laboratory and notebooks in an always audit prepared state
• o Inventory, maintaining 5S organization, and cleaning
• • Process Validation and Protocol Support
• o Process equipment inspections and sample collection
• o Allergen testing

Experience Required

• • Bachelor of Science in a Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Food Sciences or related required.
• • 1+ years' experience working in FDA regulated GMP environment in either a food or pharmaceutical microbiology laboratory setting preferred
• • Good written and verbal communication skills, excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team.
• • Ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibility for the results.
• • Ability to work overtime as needed
