Job Description

The Microbiologist I independently manages assigned microbiological projects, analyzing raw materials, finished products, and waters. As a professional scientist, you will work under supervision to develop skills and understanding of laboratory procedures, demonstrate technical expertise, document data, report findings, and stay current with microbiological literature and standards. You will conduct analyses following USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, client procedures, and other non-routine methods.

Job Functions

1. Prepare media and reagents for microbiological analyses.
2. Conduct analyses according to USP, EP, ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA, client procedures, and other non-routine methods.
3. Schedule analyses to meet deadlines while ensuring thoroughness.
4. Practice aseptic techniques and disinfection per SOPs.
5. Maintain accurate records, following standards and SOPs.
6. Perform quality assurance tasks like media qualification, equipment calibration, and maintenance.
7. Access technical references and document data in notebooks and LIMS.
8. Handle data entry, communication, and document processing.
9. Document activities in compliance with cGMP.
10. Keep work areas orderly.

Qualifications

• BSc in Microbiology or related sciences.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of scientific principles.
