This 6+ month contract-to-hire role focuses on environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, and cleanroom operations within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in ISO 5/ISO 7 cleanrooms and wear gowning certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental monitoring (air, surface, personnel sampling) in controlled environments.
• Conduct routine microbiology testing and document results GMP-compliantly.
• Evaluate data, identify trends, assist investigations and troubleshooting.
• Operate sampling equipment and lab instruments supporting contamination control.

This Microbiologist opportunity is a 6+ month contract-to-hire role focused on environmental monitoring, microbiological testing, and cleanroom operations within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment. This position is a great fit for recent Life Sciences graduates looking to break into biotech, as well as experienced laboratory professionals seeking hands-on pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities for the Microbiologist:

• Perform environmental monitoring activities, including viable air, surface, and personnel sampling within controlled manufacturing and laboratory environments.
• Conduct routine microbiology laboratory testing and generate accurate, GMP-compliant documentation of results and observations.
• Evaluate environmental monitoring data, identify trends, and assist with basic investigations and troubleshooting activities.
• Operate and maintain sampling equipment, laboratory instruments, and testing systems used to support contamination control programs.
• Ensure proper handling, labeling, storage, and disposal of laboratory materials while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications for the Microbiologist:

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• Understanding of basic analytical chemistry concepts, including the ability to create standard curves and calculate unknown sample concentrations through interpolation.
• Experience gained through coursework, internships, academic research, or industry laboratory roles in microbiology, chemistry, biotechnology, or related sciences.
• Comfortable completing cleanroom gowning certification and routinely working in ISO 5 and ISO 7 classified environments while spending extended periods on your feet.
• Strong technical writing, documentation, observation, and data analysis skills with the ability to follow procedures in a regulated setting.

Compensation of the Microbiologist:

• Associate I Salary Range: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
• Associate II Salary Range: $30.00/hr - $37.00/hr
• Contract Length: 6+ Months
• Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
