Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking a QC Microbiology Analyst I on a contract basis in Winston-Salem, NC. The role supports routine microbiological testing and environmental monitoring within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.

You will perform EM, bioburden, endotoxin, and sterility testing, maintain accurate GMP documentation, and assist with equipment qualification; strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; degree in Microbiology a plus.
• 1–2 years of relevant microbiology experience.
• GMP-regulated lab experience strongly preferred.
• Basic understanding of cGMP and cleanroom practices.
• Experience with Environmental Monitoring, bioburden, endotoxin, or sterility testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform Environmental Monitoring of GMP-controlled areas.
• Support personnel monitoring during manufacturing operations.
• Perform microbiological testing including bioburden, endotoxin, and sterility testing.
• Enumerate, Gram stain, streak, and isolate recovered organisms.
• Collect and test environmental and utility samples.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions, protocols, and safety requirements.
• Maintain GMP documentation accurately and timely.
• Assist with lab equipment qualification and process improvements.
• Maintain QC laboratory inventory and coordinate material requests.
• Maintain hygiene and aseptic practices for GMP cleanrooms.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to support testing and reporting.

Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Schedule: 5/8 schedule - Sunday-Thursday or Monday-Friday
Available Shifts: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | 10:30 AM–7:30 PM
Pay: $24-$30/hour, depending on experience
Weekend & holiday support may be required

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with Manufacturing and other Quality functions to support timely testing and reporting

What We’re Looking For

• High School Diploma required;Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field is a plus
  
• 1-2 years of relevant microbiology experience
  
• Pharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated laboratory experience strongly preferred
  
• Basic understanding of cGMP requirements and cleanroom practices
  
• Experience with Environmental Monitoring, bioburden, endotoxin, or sterility testingis highly desirable
  
• Familiarity with LIMSis a plus
  
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
• Comfortable working in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
  
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform bending, lifting, and squatting as required
