Job summary

Pacira BioSciences, Inc. is seeking a pharmaceutical microbiology specialist to provide technical expertise in quality control and assurance across manufacturing and laboratory operations.

The role focuses on routine environmental monitoring, laboratory experiments, data interpretation, and documentation to support compliant production of pharmaceutical products. Ideal candidates will hold a BS in Microbiology or life sciences, be capable of handling multiple tasks, possess strong English

Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of experiments and results including calculations.
  • Assist in interpretation of data and preparation of data for presentations.

Summary

The purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise in the area of pharmaceutical microbiology. The position functions in a cooperative effort to provide quality control and assurance to the operational departments involved in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Conduct routine environmental and systems monitoring of manufacturing and laboratory areas.
  2. Conduct general laboratory experimentation in compliance with the instructions provided in approved SOP’s to determine appropriate action.
  3. Follow policies and assists in the development of new procedures and/or documents.
  4. Maintain records of experiments performed and results obtained including appropriate calculations.
  5. Assist in the interpretation of data as require and conduct accurate and precise experimentation and complete documentation of results.
  6. Assist in the preparation of data for presentations.
  7. Maintain a level of technical knowledge and understanding in the assigned areas of responsibility consistent with the scientific requirements of the company.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This person has no direct supervisor responsibilities.

Interaction

The incumbent works closely with members of the departmental team.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • No previous experience in pharmaceutical microbiology required
  • BS degree in Microbiology or other life science from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

  1. Ability to work a 10-hour shift (includes overtime eligibility)
  2. Ability to work weekends
  3. Proficient in the use of computer word processing, spreadsheet management, and data graphics programs.
  4. Ability to qualify Class 100 gowning and maintain a qualified status.
  5. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self motivation.
  6. Good oral, written, and interpersonal English communication skills.
  7. Ability to read and accurately follow the instructions of standard operating procedures.
  8. Ability to effectively utilize scientific information resources

Will need to lift and move boxes of paper and binders weighing up to 20 pounds.

Pay Transparency

The base pay range for this role is $22.69 per hour to $31.20 per hour. This role is classified as non-exempt and eligible for over-time. The range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. The range considers a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to: geographic markets, business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications.Depending on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered.
