Actalent is seeking a laboratory technician to join our Milwaukee team for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The role focuses on microbial testing, quality control, and environmental monitoring in a compliant lab setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with GMP, FSMA compliance and quality systems.
• Laboratory operation experience related to microbial testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare microbiological media for routine and specialized testing.
• Clean and maintain glassware to support daily lab operations.
• Conduct microbial testing on bacterial samples including pathogen testing and enumeration.
• Perform QC testing on fermentation products used as animal probiotics for feed.
• Maintain the Retainer Testing Program and document results.
• Enter test results into Excel and lab documentation systems.
• Swab for allergens and environmental contaminants per protocols.
• Maintain the Microbial Control Program with monitoring and corrective actions.
• Sample raw materials for incoming material QC.
• Complete tasks in compliance with GMP, FSMA and internal procedures.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Prepare microbiological media as needed for routine and specialized testing.

• Clean and maintain used glassware to support daily laboratory operations.

• Perform general cleaning of the laboratory area to ensure a safe, orderly, and compliant workspace.

• Conduct microbial testing on bacterial samples, including pathogen testing and enumeration of products.

• Perform quality control testing on fermentation products that serve as animal probiotics for animal feed.

• Maintain the Retainer Testing Program, ensuring tests are performed on schedule and results are documented accurately.

• Input test results and related data into Excel spreadsheets and other lab documentation systems as applicable.

• Swab and test for allergens on relevant surfaces and materials, following established protocols.

• Swab and test for environmental contaminants to support environmental monitoring and control.

• Maintain the Microbial Control Program, including routine monitoring, documentation, and corrective actions as needed.

• Sample raw materials as necessary to support incoming material quality control.

• Complete all laboratory tasks in accordance with GMP, FAMIqs, and FSMA requirements and internal quality procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
