Qualifications

  • Open-minded, curious, and eager to learn new technologies and analytical techniques.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Background in Computer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Optics, Imaging Science, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with digital image analysis, data processing, or programming is preferred.
  • Knowledge of optical microscopy, particularly laser scanning confocal microscopy, is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical findings through written reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Microanalysis Scientist Co-Op

The Role

Our site in Billerica, MA is seeking a Microanalysis Scientist Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. In this role, you will join Entegris’ Micro-analysis team, which is developing a method to evaluate the particle size distribution or pore size distribution based on SEM or 3D confocal images and advanced software. You will gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge analytical instruments and contribute to method development and routine analytical services.

What You’ll Do

Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year

Computer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, Optics, Imaging Science, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Graduation Year: 2027 or later.

Eligibility

Must be a currently enrolled student. Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June. Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co‑op program. Entegris is not currently hiring candidates for co‑ops/internships who will need, now or at any time in the future, Entegris sponsorship through the H1‑B lottery.

Compensation:

$20-$30/hour range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
