Job summary

A healthcare facility in Providence is seeking a patient advocate to support registered nurses in direct care and ensure a therapeutic environment. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in social sciences or equivalent experience and the ability to work with mentally ill or developmentally delayed clients. Strong written communication skills are essential, and a CNA license is preferred. This is a full-time position with night shifts and every other weekend commitment.

Job Summary

Provides role as patient advocate through their own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, direct interaction with patients’, and providing/assisting in groups.

Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.

Candidate must have excellent written skills.

C.N.A. Preferred

2% Pay Differential Available to Applicants who maintain an Active CNA License.
