A leading healthcare organization seeks a Patient Advocate in Providence. This part-time position demands advocacy and support for patients while assisting nurses with daily activities. Candidates should have a strong background in behavioral health and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree is preferred, with compensation adjustments for those holding a CNA license.
Job Summary: Provides patient advocacy through role modeling standards of performance and communicating with patients to meet their service needs. Assists registered nurses in direct patient care, focusing on activities of daily living. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment through observation, interaction, and group activities.
Specifications: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences preferred; comparable behavioral health experience may substitute for the degree. Experience working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients is required. Excellent written communication skills are necessary.
C.N.A. Preference: 2% pay differential available for applicants with an active CNA license.
Schedule: Part-time, 20/40 days, every other weekend. Float department fills in where needed; schedule set.
This position is a replacement for a striking employee and is classified as a permanent replacement under the National Labor Relations Act, intended to be a regular employee position. Employment is subject to performance standards and conditions of Butler Hospital.
