Job Opportunity: Mental Health Professional in Forensic Services

Our Agency is dedicated to supporting the recovery of individuals with mental illnesses by providing comprehensive medical and support services across South Carolina.

Note: This position is a repost. Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply.

This role will serve all four clinical operations of WCMH in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's degree in guidance, counseling, or social sciences.
  • Two years of clinical experience providing direct patient care, including internship, practicum, or post-graduate work with patients.
  • Meeting DMH credentialing requirements, including specific coursework.
  • Knowledge and experience in criminal justice/forensic settings is preferred.
  • Eligible for SCDMH Student Loan Repayment program.
  • Residing in or willing to relocate to Horry, Georgetown, or Williamsburg counties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct competency pre-screening consultations and collaborate with legal and forensic teams to develop diversion recommendations.
  2. Participate in weekly staffing meetings and monthly supervision.
  3. Support implementation of medication over objection protocols through education and advocacy.
  4. Assist in competency restoration treatments and facilitate forensic evaluations.
  5. Maintain documentation in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned, consistent with agency policies.

Additional Information:

  • Attach graduate transcripts and licensure documentation with your application.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish are a plus.
  • Preferred licensure through South Carolina Labor, Licensing and Regulation.
