Join to apply for the MH Pharmacy Technician III role at Brown University Health

Working under the supervision of pharmacists and Pharmacy Leadership, the technician handles medications, including receiving, managing expiration dates, inventory control in Pyxis, repackaging, compounding, filling orders, delivering, and stocking. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Ordering/Receiving: Assist with receiving orders, scan deliveries, inventory management, and reordering supplies.
  2. Compounding: Perform calculations, prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds following safety protocols.
  3. Inventory Management: Check expiration dates, resolve medication issues, perform inspections, and manage medication labeling and disposal.
  4. Filling Medication Orders: Select proper drugs, organize for checking, and refill trays and kits.
  5. Deliveries: Distribute medications to patient care areas, update machine expiration dates, and handle returns.
  6. ADC Management: Load and unload medications, troubleshoot minor issues, and ensure proper filling.
  7. Communication & Professionalism: Use excellent customer service skills, answer phones, maintain professionalism, and support training.
  8. Logs & Controlled Substances: Document activities accurately, report discrepancies, and manage controlled substances with care.
  9. Time & Resource Management: Complete tasks efficiently, maintain good relationships, and ensure punctuality.
  10. Quality & Customer Service: Strive for quality, offer solutions, and handle customer interactions professionally.
  11. Knowledge & Skills: Maintain licensure, complete training, and adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
