Job description

Scope:

The Developmental Test Pilot (DTP) / Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) shall be responsible for the planning, executing, and reporting of developmental and/or Maintenance Test Flight. The MTP shall coordinate and execute ground and flight testing or test-related activities for the various activities to include testing activities, test program management, project test support, acceptance flight test, and program management for test activities. The DTP/MTP coordinates test efforts with acquisition agencies including Program Manager's offices, Contractors, and the user community. The DTP performs developmental test pilot duties in multiple aircraft types IAW USNTPS Flight Test Manuals and SOPs and command directives and memorandums. This effort will require the Contractor to follow Army Regulation 95-20. Additionally, DTP/MTPs will act as Test Directors and supervise flight test programs and all test flight activities on assigned projects and programs. The DTP/MTP provides subject matter expertise for the MH-47 platform. Contractor must be knowledgeable of aircraft level qualification requirements, and capable of interfacing effectively with aircraft subsystems and systems developers and airworthiness qualification engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical, analytical, and project management support for the integration of hardware and software applications.
  • Interprets and refines user requirements and develop potential integration solutions.
  • Develops concise and accurate performance specifications and procurement documents.
  • Monitors cost, schedule, and compliance with stated requirements.
  • Recommends to Government Cell Lead appropriate courses of action should technical problems arise, or user requirements change.
  • Perform developmental and user acceptance flight tests for hardware and software systems and subsystems.
  • The Contractor shall comply with all flight regulations, rules, and standards IAW latest version of DCMA INST 8210-1, AR 95-1, USASOC Sup 1 to AR 95-1, ARSOAC 3.0.4.11, 160th RTSOP, and applicable ARSOA series Aircrew Training Manual.
  • Perform routine clerical administrative, and logistics tasks as required.
  • Possesses a Secret or Interim Secret security clearance.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years 'experience with military rotary wing aircraft.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with current aircraft and aircraft related technical systems development, architecture, and integration.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in development of systems design, systems applications, developmental and acceptance test including fielding and sustainment.
  • Shall be qualified in the ARSOA MH-47 series rotary wing aircraft. Total Time 2,500 hours on rotary wing aircraft /Minimum of 1,500 hours as Pilot In- Command (PIC) / Minimum of 100 hours Night Vision Goggle.
  • Shall be a graduate of DoD course of instruction for Maintenance Test Pilot.
  • Graduate of DoD course of instruction for Maintenance Test Pilot.
