Job Description

American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is dedicated exclusively to the success of businesses around the world. Our mission is to help businesses thrive. GCS’s Global Marketing team is responsible for end to end marketing to all GCS customers and prospects in the US and abroad. The Launch Strategy team sits within the Chief Customer Officer team in the Marketing Hub and is focused on creating and launching impactful marketing strategies that address customer needs and business priorities to drive acquisition, engagement and loyalty.

This position will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing end-to-end Acquisition and Customer marketing strategies for new product launches and refreshes. This role is a unique blend of marketing strategy and implementation and provides the opportunity to lead and influence marketing strategies across GCS.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the GCS Global Marketing lead and set the strategic marketing vision for a select new product launch or refresh (~1 per year)
  • Lead the development and launch of cross-channel, cross-lifecycle strategies to drive acquisition and engagement in new products by leveraging customer insights, portfolio/external trends, channel needs and existing/new marketing capabilities (e.g., personalization, agile testing). This includes input on product strategy, goal setting, holistic go-to-market vision, creative platform, and strategic input on creative development/execution
  • Present regular updates to senior leadership and key stakeholders on launch strategy, results and learnings, as well as drive test and learn plan
  • Lead a high performing B30 Marketer
  • This position requires close partnership and collaboration with key internal partners such as Product, Customer Relationship Marketing, Prospect Acquisition Marketing, COMET, Field Enablement, Brand, PR, Finance and Legal

  • You’re a strategic thinker with a growth mindset ideally with a track record of developing innovative marketing strategies that drive business outcomes and best-in-class customer experiences
  • You are an influencer who can motivate and mobilize cross-functional teams and drive results even when the path forward is not always clear and defined.
  • You’re a strong people leader who can lead, motivate and coach your direct report
  • You’re a highly effective communicator with strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills that allows for the clear articulation of strategy and ideas, in order to influence key partners
  • You have a 'can do' positive attitude and willingness to pivot in the face of change quickly
  • MBA a plus; Direct marketing and B2B experience preferred
