Job summary

Superior Energy Services Wellbore Technologies Division seeks a Quality Manager to design and maintain the quality program, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. This role will act as the QMS Representative and oversee certification to applicable ISO and API standards, reporting to the NAM Director of Quality in North America.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of quality systems and how they apply to manufacturing and service environments.
• Experience with audits, both internal and external, and coordinating with certification bodies.
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to drive improvements.
• Experience creating and maintaining QMS documentation including manuals, procedures, and forms.
• Familiarity with API quality and product standards, ISO‑9000 series, and related maintenance requirements.
• Leadership experience supervising QA/QC staff and coordinating cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to managers and customers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of changes in industry standards, customer requirements, and inspection techniques.
• Serve as point of contact for customer or Certification Body audits; lead and assign auditors and subject‑matter experts for internal, external, vendor, and critical‑supplier audits.
• Collect and interpret quality data to assist in continual improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Assist with the annual Quality Management System Management Review, including maintaining and establishing annual Quality Objectives.
• Develop and maintain all QMS documents (QMS Manual, Work Instructions, and QA Forms).
• Conduct customer and critical‑supplier related investigations as QMR.
• Supervise QA/QC Coordinators.
• Review customer tenders and quality documents to support Marketing and Operations, ensuring the company can meet customers’ applicable quality requirements.
• Review and approve the development and revisions of Quality Control Plans.
• Review and approve Quality System Procedures and Process Control Plans.
• Educate QA/QC Coordinators to ensure product quality is consistent with internal, customer, and industry standards.
• Assign routine Quality Assurance Operational Inspections.
• Direct QA/QC Coordinators to monitor inspection and testing results, ensuring continuous control over materials, facilities, and products, and interpret data.
• Serve as liaison for third‑party monitor requests during outgoing inspections.
• Monitor third‑party off‑site outgoing inspections as required.
• Review damages from third‑party inspections of company‑owned pipe/tools onsite and offsite.
• Monitor operational compliance with customer specifications.
• Investigate internal incidents and customer incidents.
• Other duties as assigned by the NAM Director of Quality.

Superior Energy Services Wellbore Technologies Division is a global provider of premium drill pipe, highly specialized downhole tools, handling tools, tubular products, hard-banding services, and related wellbore technologies supporting drilling operations worldwide. Located in Broussard, LA, the Quality Manager will report to the Regional Manager of Quality – North America and is responsible for designing the Quality program and verifying that it is successfully implemented and maintained to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. The manager will serve as company QMS Representative and maintain certification to applicable ISO and API standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong understanding of quality systems.
• Ability to explain complex concepts to entry‑level employees.
• Familiarity with common quality standards.
• Basic understanding of quality engineering and statistical techniques.
• Thorough understanding of the quality audit process and related techniques.
• Working knowledge of API quality and product standards, ISO‑9000 series standards, and implementation, qualification, and maintenance of these programs.
• Working knowledge of temporary pipework and related industry standards.
• Working knowledge of computer software.
• Compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.
