Jobbeschreibung

At Williams, we're powering a cleaner, more connected future, and that starts with you. Here, your work fuels communities, drives innovation, and helps deliver reliable energy the world depends on. Join a Fortune 500 team that invests in your growth, values your contributions, and challenges you to make a lasting impact every day.

As Manager of Projects, you will be responsible for the successful development and execution of multiple sophisticated maintenance capital programs and projects at operating power generation facilities, involving collaborative solutions with plant operations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, and other internal and external partners. Focus areas may include gas turbines, reciprocating engines, generators, transformers, switchgear, substations and switchyards, controls, and balance-of-plant systems. Knowledge of project scheduling and forecasting, the ability to collaborate with internal and external business partners, and the desire to nurture a team environment are keys to success!

In this role within Williams' growing Power organization, you'll lead the team that delivers our maintenance capital program: the planned investment we make in operating power generation facilities to keep them safe, reliable, and available, including equipment repairs, replacements, upgrades, and reliability improvements. You'll own the maintenance capital plan, align the right project managers to the right projects, and partner closely with plant operations leadership so that work is prioritized and scheduled around planned outages and maintenance cycles. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has executed work on operating assets, understands how operations and maintenance teams think, and wants to build and develop a project team as the organization grows across multiple regions.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Develops and manages multi-year departmental budgets
  • Develops and leads highly performing work teams
  • Develops, reviews, and/or approves detailed project documents and ensures project designs, project plans and employees achieve business objectives and align with requirements
  • Leads a team of project managers delivering a portfolio of maintenance capital projects at operating power generation facilities, including equipment repair, replacement, upgrade, and reliability work
  • Owns the annual maintenance capital plan and leads the team's participation in budgeting and forecast cycles (including 10+2 forecasting), maintaining accurate portfolio-level cost, schedule, and spend forecasts
  • Assigns project managers to projects based on scope, location, and experience, balancing workload and building team capacity as the organization grows
  • Serves as an extension of the operations and maintenance teams, partnering closely with plant operations leadership to prioritize scope and align project timing with outages, maintenance cycles, and operational needs
  • Establishes consistent project risk assessment practices for equipment maintenance and replacement work, and ensures mitigation plans address safety, operational, schedule, and cost risk
  • Coordinates with OEMs, service providers, and contractors on major equipment inspections, overhauls, and long‑lead equipment procurement such as turbine components, generators, and transformers
  • Ensures maintenance capital work supports unit availability and reliability, including testing, commissioning, and safe return-to-service and turnover to plant operations following outages
  • Communicates clearly and credibly with all levels of the organization, from senior operations leaders to plant technicians, and coaches project managers to do the same
  • Leads and develops project managers located in multiple regions and locations, including supporting the build-out of the West maintenance capital team
  • Standardizes maintenance capital processes, tools, and reporting across regions, and develops project managers toward larger growth capital and expansion project assignments
  • Analyzes technical alternatives, identifies project risks, and completes project analyses
  • Establishes and maintains effective project controls
  • Develops and implements work processes, tools, and procedures
  • Cultivates effective working relationships with contractors, producers and customers
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program or related field and a minimum ten (10) years’ experience in power generation, energy, or oil and gas with a background in engineering, project controls, commercial development, operations and/or project management
  • Preferred:
    • A minimum of seven (7) years of project execution experience; an engineering degree, an advanced degree, PE license and/or PMP certification
    • Experience leading maintenance capital, sustaining capital, or reliability programs at operating power generation, oil and gas, or other industrial facilities
    • Experience planning and leading work during planned outages or maintenance windows on operating facilities
    • Hands-on experience with power generation equipment and systems such as gas turbines, reciprocating engines, generators, transformers, switchgear, controls, and balance-of-plant systems, including major inspections, overhauls, and replacements
    • Project execution experience from a technical services, operations, or maintenance background
    • Experience supervising project managers or field teams across multiple or remote locations
    • Relevant industry experience in power generation, energy, oil and gas, EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction), or other heavy industrial sectors
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
  • May be required to travel up to 25%
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project/Primavera and Oracle Applications
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Experience with project analysis and volume forecasting
