Job summary

The role emphasizes strategic supplier relationships, bid evaluation, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field with extensive procurement experience, including negotiation, data analysis, and cost

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; a Master's degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in sourcing and procurement processes, supplier negotiation, and cost analysis is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and supplies for operations; compiles and analyzes data to determine feasibility and price objectives.
  • Confers with suppliers, analyzes supplier operations to determine factors affecting prices, reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, tracks orders, verifies delivery, and maintains records; may prepare bid packages.

The Role

Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare bid packages.

Must Have

Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience), plus a minimum of 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 4 years relevant experience.
