Job summary

Laurel Heights Hospital seeks a Nurse Manager to lead bedside care and provide front-line nursing leadership within our pediatric behavioral health programs.

In collaboration with the Nursing Director, you will direct and coordinate unit-based nursing delivery, drive quality and safety initiatives, and mentor staff. Requires at least 1 year of nursing leadership and behavioral health experience.

The role is typically Monday–Friday with possible weekend or off-hour coverage to meet hospital needs.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Minimum of five years nursing experience required.
• Previous leadership experience required, management experience preferred.
• Current Georgia RN license. BLS and ACLS required.

Responsibilities

• Daily monitoring and review of patient admissions, incidents, and change of condition for process completion, appropriate treatment and/or interventions.
• Assist Director of Nursing will review current nursing practices and policy and assist with implementation.
• Participates in Performance Improvement and assist with audits related to patient events, incidents, or practice deficiencies.
• Resolve pending issues from the previous shift.
• Compliance Audit Related to Infection Control, e.g., glucometer, refrigerator, sharps containers, hand washing and flu campaign.
• Med Room Audits, Medication storage, medication returns, medication destruction, calling pharmacy to resolve medication issues.
• Conduct code blue drills.
• Admission and discharge audits. Check/audit the proper completion of any nursing procedure (at discretion of DON) to assure compliance.
• responsible for maintaining the daily scheduling of units according to approved ratios based on census.
• Collaborates with other departments and agencies regarding resources and services for quality patient care delivery.

We strive to cater our approach to treatment to the needs of each child who comes into our care.

Treatment programs at Laurel Heights Hospital are structured for youth ages 6–17 who are dealing with general psychiatric difficulties and trauma. We also offer specialty mental healthprograms for children with co-occurring neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The Nurse Manager roleis a great position that allows you to remain close to the bedside but allows you to serve as a front-line nurse leader. You will play a pivotalrolein shaping the future of patient care in this specialized field. In collaboration with the Nursing Director the Nurse Manager is responsible the leadership and management. The Nurse Manager fosters associate's commitment to improving quality and safety of patient care outcomes. Thisroleoffers the chance to direct and coordinate the nursing and patient care delivery of the unit-based professional. 1 years of experience in nursing leadership and behavioral health required.
