The salary range for this position is $105,000 – $175,000.

Description
Responsible for ensuring the safe operation of trains over a specific territory by overseeing the maintenance and repair of track. This position leads and manages the day-to-day activities for proper maintenance and inspection of track to meet the requirements of both the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Union Pacific Track Maintenance standards.
Accountabilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Manage maintenance budget, prioritizing where manpower and dollars are allocated to prevent service interruptions
- First responder for all critical incidents including personal injuries, crossing accidents, derailments, and storms
- Monitor production and quality performance of employees while working to ensure they are meeting or exceeding expected safety measures
- Direct supervision of track maintenance gangs to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency while operating within state, federal and Union Pacific guidelines
Qualifications – Required
- A Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience
- Participation in the Operations Management Training or Field Management Training (OMT/FMT) program or 3 or more years of work experience
Physical and Mental Job Requirements
- Capable of performing essential functions proficiently in high-stress environments.
- Walk up to 5 miles per shift, climb, and maintain balance on various surfaces including railcars, locomotives, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, moving equipment, rails, and ballast, all while prioritizing safety.
- Maintains focus on tasks and can make timely decisions.
- Comfortable wearing personal protective gear for most of the day.
- Walk safely and maintain balance on uneven surfaces.
- Frequently perform physically demanding tasks, including occasional bending, stooping, and kneeling.

The final salary of the selected candidate for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training. This position also includes additional compensation and benefits offered by Union Pacific.
